The owner of Heffley77 Illustration and Design, Dominique is a visual artist and graphic designer based in Los Angeles, CA.
Drawing from abstraction, surrealism, modern cartoon, iconography, and expressionism, Dominique develops narratives through dreamlike shape-clusters and hallucinatory characters —friendly monsters, divine beings, playful animal constructs, and bizarre manifestations of the human condition—whose eyes draw viewers into their fantastical existence.
Dominique’s work has been seen in galleries (see resume), in live theatre (set-projection), in children’s books (illustration), in the Pasadena Rose Parade (float design), in the mail (graphic design), in haunted houses (murals), in China (China Academy of Art), and even in graveyards (gravestone design).
Dominique received her BFA at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design, explored traditional Chinese arts at the China Academy of Fine Art in Hangzhou, China; and studied visual art with noted artist Joseph Gatto at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts.
